Jason is the father of one, Rashad. He is also a two time graduate of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University where he received his Bachelors of Science in Computer Information Systems and Mathematical Sciences. He currently serves as a Senior Business Intelligence Developer at Duke University Health. He also serves as a mentor and has helped numerous black men attend college of both HBCU's and PWI's alike. He hopes to one day be extremely rich so that he can send more black men and women to college debt free.
Jamel Smith is a recent graduate of Morehouse College (Atlanta, GA) where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Business Administration and an emphasis in Marketing.
His skill for effective social media campaigning and passion for the entertainment industry led him to work as a college & lifestyle marketing representative for Universal Music Group, the largest music corporation in the world. Throughout his time at UMG, Smith has coordinated several promotional events, created and managed numerous social media accounts and campaigns, developed strategic marketing plans for UMG artists, and generated artist publicity. He also does freelance digital marketing for Def Jam Life --- a college based digital marketing component for Def Jam Records.
Smith also serves as Contributing Writer and Public Relations for the award-winning student publication, The Maroon Tiger. He is also an active member, ambassador, and advocate with the Atlanta chapter of GRAMMY U & GRAMMY U Truth Squad. Smith is also a professional songwriter. At the age of 19, he wrote his first major placement on Billboard Top 10 Gospel album, Unstoppable by L. Spenser Smith.
In addition, Smith curates an interactive project called "BOYS DON'T CRY" which focuses on the broad topic of toxic hyper masculinity within the black community. His goal is to create a creative space of learning, liberation, and understanding for black boys.
Starting Fall 2017, Smith will take his talents to New York where he will continue his advancement in the entertainment industry on both the business and creative side at NYU Steinhardt's Music Business Graduate program.
